15th tee is down by the benches in the left, lower corner. You can not a few tree to the direct left of the tee. This is forcing the players to hit thru a chute effect out into the fairway on a line towards the star home. The non-length & non-imaginative golfers are impaired from the start of this hole. If a long, draw crests the hill of this hole, the firm fairway & sloping valley will a well placed drive a chance to reach the green. The trap is basically out of play for a good draw, the ball rolls to the left of it and up and around it and the slope "guides" it onto the green. The main reason for the fairway trap is to penalize non-imaginative & non-length golfers on their second shot. The various greenside traps add some visual pleasure and assure the imaginative golfers gains an edge on this hole, regardless of his shortcomings in length....Here is a reverse view of the hole |
